Music Monday: Dedicated To The Woot Writers

by Scott Lydon

Happy Music Monday! One of the best parts of this job? The people one gets to work with. Today's mix is a tribute to Scott's co-workers, the Woot Writing Team. Please enjoy! OR ELSE.

Townes Van Zandt - Kathleen

Kathleen is our newest writer, and she's so much fun. One day, after we all die, it'll be her job to carry on in our name. Carry that torch, Kathleen! We believe in you!

We're got more writer-based music coming up, right after the jump!

David Bowie - John I'm Only Dancing

John is an actor, a musician, and a writer. He's also full of joy and energy, much like this song. And he's the voice of Time Truck! We're lucky to have him.

Scissor Sisters - Laura

Laura, of course, has a long history with electronic music. She's also very good at improv, though she'll deny it if you ask her. So DON'T.

Thunder - Amy's On The Run

Amy is as mysterious as the hard rock band who recorded this song. Plus they're both slightly British! And since Amy kinda liked this song when I played it in the room, I went with it. Enjoy.

The Proclaimers - Sean

Sean's gone back to his magical castle in Iowa, but he's still in our hearts. And, at the time of this writing, he's still in the room. If he wasn't, we'd have to look elsewhere for a fifth song and that would be way too difficult. Fun fact: Sean actually hates puns. He just suffers through them because he loves you readers so much.

BONUS: Foo Fighters - Stacked Actors

We close out with some classic modern rock. See if you can guess to whom this song is tied! The clue is in the lyrics. Or possibly the forums.

Let us just remind you: some images come from the corresponding Wikipedia page and are here under fair use. See you next week.
