Music Monday: Fight Fight Fight

by Scott Lydon

Happy Music Monday! We're a blog post that promotes peace, but sometime, you just gotta stand up and fight for what you believe in. Today Scott's got five songs to inspire your struggles. BRING IT

Public Enemy - Fight The Power

PE was at the forefront of political hip hop, and they terrified some people. And what was their response? To release one of the best albums of their decade. If you're gonna fight, you gotta bring your best.

The battle continues, after the jump.

Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting

Carl Douglas might have a song that's a bit anachronistic by today's standards, but let's be honest: for the 1970s, this really isn't that bad. This song's full of love and respect and it clearly knows what it's talking about. And anyway, what fun is it being a fighter if you can't get cheered on?

Kaiser Chiefs - I Predict A Riot

When fights get REALLY bad, they bubble over into riots! But riots are fights with no goal. They're just destructive, like hurricanes or tornadoes. Riots aren't productive and should be avoided.

The Ramones - Beat On The Brat

Fighting and violence are two very different things. Just wildly lashing out doesn't do anything but hurt. You fight to win, to reach a goal. Always keep that goal in mind.

Led Zeppelin - Battle Of Evermore

If you can win the battle, you can maybe win the war! That's why all cultures still understand that fighting is sometimes something you've just gotta do. If you believe in something, make a stand! Unless you're wrong, of course. If you're wrong, just give up and save us some time. Thanks in advance! Hearts!
